Graduating from Nottingham Trent University in 2012 with a Ba(Hons) in Graphic Design, I have built a strong foundation in design through years of experience as a graphic designer. My passion for design spans multiple disciplines, including branding, typography, and digital design, which have all shaped my creative journey.

Recently, I embraced the next chapter of my career by completing a UX Design Bootcamp with the UX Design Institute. This experience deepened my understanding of user-centered design principles and allowed me to develop a suite of skills tailored to creating intuitive, user-focused solutions.

Outside of design, I enjoy exploring other creative outlets such as drawing, painting, and photography, capturing both objects and people. I also take pride in participating in woodworking and joinery projects, where I find fulfillment in crafting with my hands and bringing ideas to life in physical form. With a keen appreciation for the intersection of design and functionality, I am now fully committed to pursuing a career as a UX Designer, blending my love for diverse design disciplines with a dedication to enhancing user experiences.

A Step by Step Approach

5 Steps Approach

My Creative Process

01. Empathise
02. Define
03. Ideate
04. Prototype
05. Test

01. EMPATHISE
Research Process. I am approaching the project with an empathic understanding of the problems I have to solve. Understand user experiences, motivations, and frustrations, and immerse me in the environment to gain a profound understanding of the issues involved. Using empathy to understand the human-centred design, I set apart my assumptions and do my best to understand the user’s needs and insights. A detailed analysis of the competition, surveys, user studies, and the buyer’s reaction to the product or brand presented are vital for the project to start correctly.

02. DEFINE
Define Process. The next step is to put together the information collected from the research phase. Then, I will analyze and synthesize the collected data to define the essence of the problems and define them as problem statements. In this phase, I’ll develop features, functions and other solutions that will allow users to solve their problems. Now it is vital to define the questions that will help to channel future solutions. Directly I will address the problem by naming the problem.

03. IDEATE
Ideation Process. Now because I understand the users and their needs, I’ll start thinking and writing down ideas. First, I have the problem statement that needs to be solved using the research I conducted before phases. Then, all ideas are analyzed through a brainstorming process, and none are wrong, but all are carefully considered. Finally, thinking outside of the box, I identified new solutions to the problems found. The goal is to find the best way to solve the issues and put users’ needs upfront and central.

04. PROTOTYPE
Prototype Process. With the group of ideas I selected in mind, I will create the first sketches that will soon transform into prototypes.Sketching – The easiest and less expensive approach to transform ideas in the visual elements is the stretches. I prefer making a few 3-5 different and quick options that will clarify my thoughts and help the client visualize the upcoming project.Prototyping – The best ideas from sketches are implemented next into the wireframe and prototypes. Using Figma or Adobe XD, I’ll put together the static wireframes, and later, I’ll prepare the interactive prototype to be tested by real users.

05. TEST
Evaluate Process.
The collected results during the testing phase refine any problem the user encounters, ensuring that the process flow is running flowless and smoothly. The user’s testing and interacting with the prototype and how I collect the feedback on the behaviour and feelings. New alterations and improvements were applied to the prototype, ensuring that users understood and performed well with the interactive prototype.
